Having 15 years experience in the engineering, electronics and motor trade sectors I made the decision to become self employed in 2006.
I began trading as AKM Engineering and set up a mobile vehicle repair service from a large van fitted out as a mobile workshop.
In 2008 I moved into a small unit at Mickley Lodge. The access door was only 6ft tall but I managed to get a 2 post lift in and repaired mainly cars.
In 2010 I moved into a much larger unit at Mickley Lodge. With a larger workshop and the addition of a 4 post ramp I was able to take on more work including 4x4s and larger vans.
In 2014 I took some part time work at a local MOT testing centre and gained my MOT qualification.
Now in 2018 I'm still in the same unit at Mickley, repairing cars, vans and 4x4s and carrying out MOTs for my customers offsite.
